Thinking about your kitchen is very often a tailor-made project because we all have our little habits and therefore it has to be thought out according to its own needs. Discover all our tips to create the kitchen of your dreams with storage, good circulation and which suits YOU above all.
CREATE STORAGE
CABINET WITH PEDESTAL
Storage is essential in a kitchen. We will not talk here about the choice of boxes or the constitution of the drawers / cupboards. The drawers are more practical in everyday life but have an additional cost. The important thing is to have storage space to store the dishes and all that is needed for cooking.
As for the upper part and / or lower part, what about? This will depend on the space available, the shape of the room, the number of storage units desired. Adding tall cabinets increases storage and storage capacity. It also weighs down the room.
In order not to create a visually heavy block, we recommend mismatching the colors of the low cabinets, high cabinets. For the lower part, the choice is free. For the upper part, we advise you to start with a lighter shade and / or uniform facades without relief.

THE SHELVES
Do you want storage on the upper part of your kitchen but do not want to add boxes? Wall shelves are a good in-between. They occupy the space visually, dress up your walls while creating small storage and storage areas. Since everything is visible here, the idea is rather to store pretty things like beautiful dishes, jars, boards.

If you don't need extra storage, the shelves can only be decorative with the addition of small items like a clock, plants, picture frames, recipe books. In order to break the linear lines of the kitchen furniture, the shelves will give volume, relief and character to this unique room..

LOW OPEN CABINET
You are an adapts to handy items. You like to see the elements that make up your kitchen and closed cabinets are not for you. Then low shelving and open furniture are made for you. The infinite thin flat iron foot helps to imagine a made-to-measure piece of furniture by adapting the dimensions and the number of crossbars. So you create the piece of furniture you need. Storage is a personal story between oneself and one's interior. The kind of cabinet that appeals to you the most is up to you.
CHOOSE THE LOCATION OF THE APPLIANCES
LOCATION OF LARGE EQUIPMENT
The fridge, gas stove, extractor hood and sink are essential components of a kitchen. Their location will define the remaining work surface. They are the 3 pillars of a kitchen :
- Cooking: gas stove
- Wash: sink
- Store: fridge
It all depends on the positions of the technical finishes, so at the start of a construction this must already be considered. These 3 zones constitute a triangle where you have to find a sensible ergonomics. The gas stove has every interest in being close to the fridge. The sink must be placed near the trash and a potential dishwasher.
We do not recommend gluing the sink or gas stove to a cabinet or against a wall. In everyday use, it is not pleasant.
ISLAND OR NOT ISLAND
If space allows it, the question arises all the more if we add an island to the kitchen, what will we find on it? Rather the hob, the sink or none of that to make just a worktop or snack plan? Positioning your hob on the gas stove allows you to face the room when cooking, but it involves wider and more substantial splashing. As for the sink, it is cleaner but the taps are very visible as well as the dishes being dried. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.
When we think of an island, we necessarily think of a large kitchen. But a small island can help create an additional worktop as well as a small dining area. It won't be a big size but will be very practical. It's up to you to define whether or not it is possible to add one and if you are interested, discover here all our tips for defining the height of your kitchen island.
SMALL APPLIANCE
Coming in the microwave, the coffee maker and all those robots that are a household help in the kitchen. They can be hidden in cupboards, arranged on the worktop. Again no rule rather habits.
Is the microwave used every day? It is interesting to make it visible and in an easily accessible area. Otherwise, we will perhaps hide it more and put it in height. Ditto for other robots.
The small household appliance, in addition to being very useful, is also pretty and can therefore remain on the worktop like pastry robots.
1 CABINET FOR 2 FUNCTIONS
Let’s go back to this work plan in more detail, especially as an extension of a kitchen or the creation of an island. In addition to being an additional area for kitchen equipment, it is also an additional location to enlarge the worktop and even create a dining area.
This space therefore becomes multi-use and very practical in everyday life. Using chairs or a stool that slides under the worktop to facilitate movement, this space adapts.
The feet chosen to dress this island can be very different. We can imagine airy feet like hairpin legs custom made or conical custom made so as not to overload the space. Timeless custom-made industrial legs to delimit a real dining area for a greater extension in terms of size.

In industrial feet , there are 2 types of feet, those which are purely decorative like le pied sablier, the cross foot orthe made-to-measure A foot. These models do not allow the addition of an additional chair. On the contrary, the models offlat iron foot, trapeze or the M foot, meanwhile, allows them to stand out in the room without cluttering it up for the storage of a chair or the addition of a guest.

TABLE OR NOT TABLE ?
In the previous solution, the table is integrated into the kitchen directly at the height of the worktop.
2 other solutions exist :
- Create a table in the extension of an island at the standard height of a table
- Create a small independent kitchen table if space makes this option possible.
A kitchen is ultimately very complex to imagine. Many components must be taken into account and placed according to technical plans first and then according to individual wishes. It is a key piece in terms of circulation of space and practicality.
