Vincent, a decoration and DIY enthusiast, imagined an Ikea hack via an IVAR piece of furniture. This decoration buff shares these good ideas through his blog Shake My Blog. Let's discover together the different stages of its DIY !
EQUIPMENT
- 1 IVAR cabinet
- 4 roller hairpin legs 20 cm
- 12 hinge screws 20 mm
- Screwdriver
- 1 can of black paint
- 1 brush
- 1 thick cork sheet
- 1 cutter
- 1 double-sided adhesive roll
THE DIY PROCESS
STEP 1
Using the brush, apply two coats of paint to the Ivar box. Leave to dry between the two applications for the time indicated on the pot.
STEP 2
Once the box is dry, turn it over. Position the roller pin feet 20 cm at each corner, taking care to position them 1 or 2 cm from the edge so that the plate is not visible).
STEP 3
Screw the feet using the 12 hinge screws 20 mm and a screwdriver.
STEP 4
Turn your box over to measure the upper surface, i.e. the top.
STEP 5
Once the width and length have been obtained, transfer these dimensions onto the cork sheet and cut out the necessary part using a cutter.
Position a box to avoid damaging anything during cutting.
STEP 6
Using double-sided adhesive tape, stick your cork sheet to your box. To do this, position the double-sided pieces on the cork support and then place it on the box, taking care to center it.
