DIY RUN
STEP 0
Pay special attention when choosing the boards, especially in the design of the knots and that the boards are not twisted to have a completely flat surface in the final result.
STEP 1
Sand the boards and cleats to remove all roughness from the wood.
STEP 2
Varnish each of the elements (cleats + planks) using a translucent varnish and a brush.
STEP 3
Sand down the varnish using sanding paper, then apply a coat of “caesura” effect paint.< /p>
White lead is like applying paint to a wooden board that will reveal the designs of the wood, i.e. these knots and veins.
STEP 4
Time to move on to assembling the tray. Place the boards in their viewing order.
STEP 5
Cut 2 of the cleats to obtain 2m20 and arrange them at each end, edge to edge and lengthwise.
Cut the 2 remaining cleats to create 4 cleats 79.4 cm long and arrange them widthwise: 2 each ends, edge to edge and 2 in the center, approximately every 73 cm.
This creates a structure that you will come to fix on the board using 36 screws.
STEP 6
Place the legs 20 cm from the edge, center them in relation to the width of the top and secure them using the hinge screws and a screwdriver.
Tip: tuck in the feet up to 30 cm to add additional guests end of table
STEP 7
Let's take care of the finishing touches by adding wood filler to the joint between the structure and the boards. Then by painting the contours of the tray for touch-ups.
