It was one of you who gave us the idea of the Infinite Flat Iron Foot. The request was simple: "I would like to make a TV cabinet with a flat iron foot, only I would like to put the internet box and the play under it, can you add a crossbar in its center? ".

Florent, the founder, reads this email and says "it's really not stupid, you have to try! ". Kevin, one of the 3 metalworkers at La Fabrique and who is used to custom-made flat iron feet, sets out to manufacture this "new foot". Once the steel is bent, welded, degreased and painted, the whole team wants to see what the famous foot with crossbar gives.

You got it at the factory, with each new collection, each member of the team has their say before a new foot is released. So we launched the first infinite flat iron feet in production, and here is the result :

Now, let's go into a little more detail between the moment this request was made to us and the moment when the infinite flat iron foot product sheet was released..

WHY NOT BE LIMITED TO THIS FOOT AND MAKE A CUSTOMIZED PRODUCT SHEET ?

Florent : From experience, we knew that this foot was going to please and that we had to go further in its thinking and in the way in which we were going to offer it to our customers. It's great to be able to offer the adaptation of a piece of furniture in made-to-measure dimensions made in France at prices that are not exorbitant.

ONCE THE IDEA IS FOUND, WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS? ?

Florent : we draw the foot on a drawing software, we measure the lengths, widths, angles, etc. and we embark on a first prototype foot

Kevin : we make the foot thinking about the easiest and most efficient way to make it

Florent : while ensuring the final aesthetic. We will therefore create several prototypes to validate one or more.

Amélie : at the same time, we are starting to think about a mockup of a product sheet. We think about all the important elements to find on the page: characteristics, custom fields, photos, etc. Next, we embark on creating a mockup. This mockup is shown to various team members to verify that nothing has been missed. We change what needs to be and then we get to a version where everyone agrees.

Anais : in parallel also, we think about the price rates but also the carriers that we will choose for the shipment according to the foot.

Florent : once the foot is chosen, the model validated, the prices defined, we make it all happen.

BEFORE A FOOT EXITS WHAT HAPPENS?

Florent : Each foot is unique and each welcome a new foot also. However, we try to anticipate, we order steel for the manufacture and boxes for their shipment.

Kevin : We create a template to optimize the manufacture of the foot

Amélie : We send the model to production and we integrate it on the site, we organize a photo shoot to have visual content in different universes with the new foot while thinking about how we will communicate on its release

THIS IS IT, THE PRODUCT SHEET IS ONLINE, HOW TO PREPARE THE OUTPUT OF A NEW FOOT ?

Florent : we are very attentive to the first customer feedback to rectify the small details.

Amélie : we share the photos of the shooting on our social networks Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest, we write different content on different media to share them (newsletter, blog, partnerships, press relations, featured on the home page)

Anais : we advise our clients to best adapt the tailor-made stand to their project

Les métalliers : And we get to work! We fold, weld, clean and paint new orders !

WHY DON'T YOU SELL THE COMPLETE FURNITURE ?

Kevin : Working with wood and steel are two very different jobs, due to the techniques, the material and obviously the raw materials.

Florent : Steel is an element that has always interested me and so far I have only wanted to highlight the legs to adapt them to existing furniture or imagine a table. Steel is not as noble as wood in its raw state and we make sure to sublimate it and find functionality in it. We prefer to focus only on foot manufacturing at this time. But never say never !

TOUT EST RÉELLEMENT FABRIQUÉ ET FAIT EN FRANCE ?

Florent : Absolutely everything is thought out and made in our workshop in the North of France, if you have the opportunity to take a tour of the workshop, you can see the team at work.

Quentin et Steve : We take care of everything until shipment. This is also what makes the strength of the factory, everyone realizes the work and efforts of others with each release of a new collection.

DELIVERY TIME AND MANUFACTURING / STOCK ?

Anais : As you understood, everything is made in the workshop and with this stand where everything is customizable, it takes 2 to 6 weeks of manufacturing time (depending on the dimensions chosen) + 2 to 3 days of delivery time.

Florent : I still have ideas in my head for the next few feet ...
