MAKE YOUR OWN BATHROOM CABINET!

We have now seen how to make your own dining table, coffee table or even a bedside cabinet, let's launch into something that can be scary but which is actually very simple to make: a washbasin cabinet for your bathroom.

The idea is to create an airy piece of furniture while sliding storage underneath. Let's go to DIY !

EQUIPMENT

• 1 board of 1m50 by 40 cm
• 1 board of 1m30 by 30 cm
• 2 reinforced hairpin leg 80 cm
• 2 hairpin legs 40 cm
• 2 basins and taps
• 6 chair brackets
• 12 screw hinge for the feet
• 12 hinge screws for brackets
• Varnish
• Screwdriver
• Hole saw
• Sandpaper

DIY PROCESS

STEP 1 :

After purchasing all the necessary material, quickly sand the 2 boards to remove any irregularities in the wood and avoid splinters.

STEP 2 :

Use the hole saw tip on your screwdriver and make circular holes where you want to put the sinks and slide the taps.

STEP 3 :

Varnish the boards to protect them from splashing water and humidity.

STEP 4 :

Assemble the boards with their feet.

For the large board (1.50 m by 40 cm), position 80 cm reinforced pin feet at 2 cm from the edge of the plate to prevent the plate from being seen and screw the feet using the screwdriver and 6 hinge screws.

For the small board (1m30 by 30cm), position feet pins 40 cm 2 cm from the edge of the plate to prevent the plate from also being seen and screw the feet using the screwdriver and 6 hinge screws.

STEP 5 :

Fixing the 4 chair brackets

We will take our 2 boards with the feet and add the brackets. Fix 1 square 15 cm from each edge using the hinge screw and a square in the center. Repeat this step on the second plank.

STEP 6 :

Draw a level line on your wall at 80 cm and a second at 40 cm.

STEP 7 :

Position the largest of the boards with the 80 cm reinforced pin feet against the previously drawn line. Check that the board is level and fix the brackets to the wall using the screwdriver and the hinge screws.

STEP 8 :

Repeat the previous step with the small board now.

STEP 9 :

You can now come and place your washbasins there and connect the taps..

Your furniture is finished, all you have to do is slide baskets onto the small board to be able to store your things..

Here you are with a unique and tailor-made bathroom cabinet !

You can also create this type of washbasin cabinet with the infinite flat iron foot where you can choose the number of crossbars and their height. This foot is a little more massive and industrial. It's up to you to choose your favorite foot!
