Are you tempted to design a new coffee table but not sure how to go about it? What shape, what feet or what size to choose to best optimize your space? Today we'll explain everything to help you build the perfect coffee table for your home !
A COFFEE TABLE DEPENDING ON THE AVAILABLE SPACE
First of all, know that the standard dimension for a coffee table top is 100x60cm. However, certain criteria can disturb these standards, in particular the space of the room.
FOR LARGE SPACES
If you are lucky enough to have a voluminous living room with plenty of space , then you can opt for a rather large coffee table. In this case, you can go for rectangular trays of dimensions 120x90cm or a square tray of 120X120cm.
Alternatively, you can also opt for a round top which will be more imposing, or have fun creating several coffee tables at different heights to occupy the space.

FOR SMALL SPACES
If your living room is small and you have little space for your coffee table, then you will need to be careful about the dimensions of the table top.
Usually a rectangular 100x40cm tray with custom-made flat iron feet will do the trick. You can also opt for a small square tray with a big drum foot if the space is really too tight.

A COFFEE TABLE DEPENDING ON YOUR SOFA
STANDARD HEIGHTS
Ideally and for optimal comfort, the height of the coffee table should be the same as that of your sofa seat . In other words, it should not exceed 45cm. So it's up to you to measure the seat of your sofa and choose the feet accordingly.
However, if you are in the habit of eating in the living room or making TV sets, we advise you, in this case, to create a coffee table a little higher to be more comfortable and less curved.

FOR A CORNER SOFA
In this situation, the important thing is to make sure that the coffee table can be well centered in the hollow of the sofa and that the whole is harmonious. We recommend that you have a coffee table exactly the same height as the seat of the sofa . Here is a first example with reinforced pin feet and a second with custom-made double feet.

A COFFEE TABLE ACCORDING TO YOUR DECORATION
FOR AN INDUSTRIAL STYLE
If all of your decoration tends towards an industrial style , then opt for a voluminous coffee table. It will harmonize your room and will be in harmony with the rest of your interior. For this, we advise you to use industrial feet type flat iron, trapeze or cross.

FOR AN AERIAL AND MINIMALIST STYLE
If, on the contrary, you have a rather refined, airy or even minimalist decoration , then we advise you to go for similar feet : reinforced hairpins legs, small drum or big drum.

A COFFEE TABLE DEPENDING ON ITS PURPOSE
FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS
You don't especially need a coffee table every day, but it is missing when you entertain family or friends ?
Don't panic, we have a solution for you! Buy a standard size tray (100x60cm) and add some hairpin legs with wheels ! With this, you'll have a coffee table when you need it, and easily stow away in a corner when it's no longer needed. Convenient, no ?

TO EAT
If you have a habit of eating in the living room or making TV sets regularly, you can opt for a slightly larger coffee table with a larger top (if you have the necessary space, obviously).
Do not hesitate to make this coffee table a little higher than the seat of your sofa , for a question of comfort.
