You may not know it, but when making your dining table you have the option of positioning your feet in different ways. In reality, it will depend on several criteria. Will there be one, two, three or even four feet under your table top? Let's take a look at the different possibilities available to you !
A DINING TABLE WITH 4 FEET
REINFORCED PIN FEET AND SQUARE FEET
If you want to make your dining table with four legs , we will first advise you to orient yourself towards reinforced pin feet or square feet . Indeed, we do not recommend that you use the two-rod pin feet for the sake of robustness. These are rather intended for the realization of a console for example.
Regarding the fixing, we recommend that you fix your four feet at about 1cm from the edge. In this way, the footplate will not be visible and the result will be much more aesthetic.

RECTANGLE FEET AND V FEET
Also used by four, we will find these two models: the V foot and the rectangle foot . These have a few peculiarities: the V foot is curved and the rectangle foot is inclined . You have the option of placing them the way you want, depending on the desired aesthetic.
As for the rectangular legs, you can place them on the edge of the tabletop, tucked a little inwards, more or less inclined ... Let your creativity run free !

As for the V feet, here too, you will be able to give free rein to your imagination. When you have a rectangular top, you also have the option of placing the feet edge to edge on the top, slightly tucked inward or even playing on the proximity of the tips !
In addition, when you have a round or square top and you want to place your feet in the center, you can only use three depending on the size of your top! See this for yourself !

A DINING TABLE WITH 2 FEET
Now let's talk about the feet in pairs, often referred to as an industrial model because they are very imposing . This category, we will divide it into two distinct parts: full feet and empty feet . First, let's see together the full feet where we will find the cross feet , the double reinforced foot and foot A
FULL FEET
With this type of steel table leg , two criteria will be taken into account: aesthetics and practicality . Indeed, the position of your feet will be according to your tastes, there is no doubt.
However, you will also have to think about the usefulness of your dining table and ask yourself whether or not you want to install a guest at the end of the table. If this is the case, you will then need to position your feet towards the inside of the platform . Then count 30 to 40cm between the edge of the tray and your foot so that your guest is comfortable.
However, if your table is all in length and you do not want to add anyone at the end, then you can very well fix your legs edge to edge with the top but also tuck them a little inwards if you prefer this aesthetic.

EMPTY FEET
Secondly, empty feet where we will find the M foot , flat iron foot , the trapeze foot et hourglass foot .
The rules are the same for empty feet as they are for full feet. They can just as easily be placed edge to edge on the board or be tucked a little inwards.
However, these models of feet have a small peculiarity. Indeed, even if these are placed edge to edge on the tray, you will still have the possibility of placing a guest at the end of the table (see photo n ° 1).

A DINING TABLE WITH 1 LEG
You will understand, when you use a single leg to make your dining table, it will necessarily be a central leg ! There is then only one rule to follow and it adapts to each central foot, whether the circular foot , the central V foot , the central triple foot or the central hourglass foot. It will simply be necessary that your foot is fixed in the center of the plate in order to ensure the robustness and the necessary stability.
Finally, do not forget to pay particular attention to the size of your table top according to the foot you choose and do not hesitate to refer to the product sheets for more details on this subject. !
