MAKE A TV CABINET WITH A BOX21 October 2020
What you see in the trade does not suit you! There is always a detail of the furniture that you would have imagined otherwise. For lack of not finding the ideal piece of furniture, start making it and it will be perfectly to your taste. We present you here a TV cabinet with box to slide in a few baskets or your TV and game boxes. Let's go for DIY !
- 4 pin feet 15 cm
- 2 boards of 1.50m long by 30cm wide and 2cm thick
- 2 boards 26cm long by 30cm wide and 2cm thick
- Special wood glue
- 12 hinge screws 20mm
STEP 0 :
Wood is a material that works with humidity and heat. After purchasing it, let the planks sit in your home while it gets used to the conditions. This will avoid deformation after the fact.
STEP 1 :
Glue the small boards (the one 26cm long by 30cm wide and 2cm thick) on the inside of the large board (the one 1.50m long by 30cm wide and 2cm thick).
Check the right angle with a square or a level and let dry for the time indicated.
STEP 2 :
Lay the box on its side and glue the second large board. Leave to dry for the indicated time.
STEP 3 :
Varnish the furniture to protect it and let it dry for the time indicated.
STEP 4 :
Put the box on its back and place the feet on the corners. Retract them 1.5cm to prevent the plate from being visible once the cabinet is turned over.
STEP 5 :
You can pre-drill your boards if your wood is dense, this will make this step easier.
Add glides with the pin to avoid punching and marking your floor, especially if it is parquet.
