SECURE THE FEET IN THE RIGHT PLACE
There are all types of table tops, the most famous are round, square and rectangular tables. . There are also all kinds of sizes: large, medium and small. We have, for each size of table top, feet of different dimensions. There are certain rules to follow before attaching your feet to your table top, here they are
ROUND TABLES
Depending on the size of your table top, you will need 1, 3 or 4 legs depending on whether it is central or individual legs. For a central foot like the models of circular foot or V central , we advise you to mark a point under the platform in the center and then attach the foot.
For individual feet like the hairpin leg, the conical foot or the V foot, you would need 3 or 4 feet depending on the diameter of your table top.
- For a small tray, 3 feet may be sufficient. You need to draw an equilateral triangle under your board, at each angle of this triangle, place your feet then position them more or less 15 cm from the edge.
- For a medium and large table top, 4 feet are needed. Draw two perpendicular lines going through the center of the tabletop, so you get four spokes where you can position your 4 feet
RECTANGULAR TABLES
For a rectangular top, several possibilities :
- 1 central foot
It attaches to the center of your tray to ensure better weight distribution and great stability.
- 2 feet
This configuration is done with models of industrial feet such as flat iron feet, feet M or cross feet . Here, you will position them at the end of the tray more or less 30 centimeters from the edge depending on the addition of a guest at the end of the table.
- 4 feet
It is about independent foot like rectangular feet or as square feet , you will position them more or less 10 centimeters from the edge. Namely, some feet are angular, that is, they are designated so as to be at an angle. Depending on the angle, they must therefore be positioned inside the tray. There is no rule as to the positioning in relation to the angle, it is up to you to choose it according to the desired final aesthetic rendering.
SQUARE TABLES
The positioning of the legs under a square top is quite similar to that of the rectangular top. Legs such as the central middle V are designed for square tops specifically in view of their size. Here, we start from a central positioning with a central foot or an angle positioning, or at the outer ends of the plate.
Tip: Position your feet more or less inside your table top, you can make the mounting plate invisible.
