Make you discover new decorative and trendy style, we love it! Do you know the latest one: THE JAPANDI TREND! This style was born from a mix between the decoration codes of Japan and Scandinavia.
WHERE IS HE FROM ?
The word Japandi comes from the contraction of 2 universes: Japan and Scandinavia.
No need to present Scandinavian style is THE trend of recent years, with these pastel tones, graphic patterns, a warm and bright atmosphere, a functional aspect centered on light wood. It has even become a way of life.
The Japanese style is less known to the general public. It stands out for its color neutrality, simplicity, minimalism and revolves a lot around well-being and zenitude.
These 2 styles, which do not resemble in their characteristics, are however complementary. Combining the functional aspect of one with the elegance of the other creates a clean interior.
This trend invites us to refocus on what seems essential in decoration , we seek to create a interior in which one feels good, with a certain comfort. We only keep what is pleasing to the eye, focus on the essentials and get rid of the superfluous.
Dare, get started in your interior design by changing, creating, adapting a wall, a room, a piece of furniture!
THE CODES OF JAPANDI
SOBER AND DARK COLORS
We try to get closer to the natural colors that soothe us: warm whites, taupe or even earthy brown . We go through the entire palette of white to black through anthracite gray. Small touches are added to bottle green or midnight blue, reminiscent of nature and those moments of calm, with a section of wall or with plants cleverly arranged in the room.
Neutral tones promote zenitude, inner peace and the need for calm.
NATURAL MATERIALS
Creating a Japandi universe involves choosing materials directly linked to nature. With linen and hemp for fabrics, lime, waxed concrete or stone for floors or walls, wood of all kinds (walnut, bamboo, rattan) and colored and tinted steel for furniture .
We think of using materials that have lived and on which time to play with its wear: driftwood, worn furniture, shades of antique copper. Light wood goes well with darker species, metal tinted with black or copper.
When we think of minimalism, we say to ourselves that there should be as little furniture as possible. This is wrong, you have to succeed in building a warm and lively environment where you feel good. Your interior tells your interior personality, your furniture and decoration also have a story to tell.
SOFT ACCESSORIES
Always in this idea of nature and well-being, we choose soft objects to contemplate in their form and their practical aspect: vases, candle holders, bowls . We try to play with shapes through curved, curved objects to create a harmonious decor.
We add branches and plants to accentuate the relaxing atmosphere with cherry leaves, bouquets of dried flowers, pampas leaves. We keep the idea of a wild flower with a soft color that soothes the mind.
This new minimalist style of decor, which also draws these sources from the wabi-sabi trend which embodies the beauty of imperfect things, is purified, minimalist, lively and focused on the essential: a peaceful spirit.
It is about to invade your interiors, your projects and your furniture, let yourself be overwhelmed and grabbed by this refined trend. With this new trend, the Japandi style proves the “less is more” right.
If this style isn't for you after all, there are others, industrial style or the all white style. Find what sticks to your personality to breathe it into your interior!
