WHY CHOOSE A CENTRAL LEG

The central leg finds more and more its place under trays to create a dining table. The main advantage of the latter, rather than a pair of legs or a quartet, is that it leaves the placement of chairs around the said table free.
Each central leg, whatever its design, has prerogatives to respect such as its location under the top and the maximum size of the support it can accommodate. If this is not respected, there is a risk of shaking and tipping when there is support. The weight of the board also plays a role, but it is not the most important criterion in the equation.
At La Fabrique, some of our legs are standard, that is to say with a certain height, width and length to suit table top dimensions of +/- 30 cm. Other existing models are also available as tailor-made to meet specific size supports, discover 13 dining table inspirations. The central foot is in itself only one category. Within it, there are various designs: airy or more industrial, massive or minimalist, colorful or timeless, large or small table. Something to satisfy everyone's tastes and desires. Among these standard models, some are specific to square tables and others rectangular. Why this ? Because the grip on the ground is different depending on the shape and we have worked the steel branches to find a perfect balance between design and robustness. Here, the tray adapts to the foot.
Made-to-measure makes everyone agree to match the size of the top to a favorite design. Here, the foot adapts to the top.
WHICH LEGS TO CHOOSE - OUR CENTRAL LEG EXPERTISE
The standard central legs are designed for "classic" size tops:
- Rectangular top: from 1m80 to 80 cm and 2m20 to 1m
- Square top: 70/80 cm, 90/100 cm, 120 cm
Let's list together the proposed designs and their variations :
MIKADO FOOT
This model is available in 3 different diameter standards and made to measure.
- Little mikado : for a tray of 70 to 89 cm
- Middle mikado : for a tray of 90 cm tp 119 cm
- Big mikado : for a tray of 150 cm by 85 cm to 220 by 110 cm
- Mikado sur mesure
It is industrial while remaining airy thanks to its 4 branches meeting in the center. It is suitable for all shapes of trays (round, square, rectangular and oval).

HOURGLASS FOOT
This industrial model is more imposing. Of our entire range, it has the most floor space. It is suitable for all shapes of tops (round, square, rectangular and oval). These variations:
- Large central hourglass: for a top of 150 cm by 85 cm to 220 by 110 cm
- Custom central hourglass
STAR FOOT
On the site, it only exists for a dining table that can accommodate a top from 90 cm to 120 cm in diameter. The star foot is therefore designed for square and round tops. Its minimalist design does not detract from its stability.
CIRCULAR FOOT
Very graphic and with its cone shape, it catches the eye. This model is only designed for round and square tops. It is available in 3 different diameters:
- Small circular: for a top from 70 cm to 89 cm in diameter
- Medium circular: for a top from 90 cm to 119 cm in diameter
- Large circular: for a top of 120 to 140 cm in diameter

CENTRAL TRIPLE LEG
Its graphic and refined lines contrast with its full plate which imposes and hugs the ground. It is suitable for round and square tops only. 3 variations are available :
- Small central triple: for a top from 70 cm to 89 cm in diameter
- Medium triple central: for a tabletop from 90 cm to 119 cm in diameter
- Large central triple: for a top of 120 to 140 cm in diameter
TULIP FOOT
The most original of the range, sometimes it looks like spider legs, sometimes like a bouquet of tulips. The fact remains that it exists in 3 variations, here not in relation to the dimensions of the top that it can accommodate but in terms of the height of the feet. That is, it will either be a dining table (in 71 cm), i.e. a high table (in 90 cm) or a standing table (in 110cm) . Whatever its size, it is suitable for square and round tops from 60 cm to 80 cm maximum.
BISTRO STAND
The latest entry into the range, classic but so popular that it is now part of the catalog. It is available on the same principle as the tulip foot with the addition of various floor plates. So there is:
- The 71 cm bistro leg with a plate square, round and in the shape of cross
- The 90 cm bistro leg with a plate square, round and in the shape of cross.
Classic but timeless !
CENTER FOOT CONDITION
Each one has these particularities and these top constraints. There is no question of using a circular leg for a rectangular table. However, it is possible to take 2 quantities. This will give an even different look compared to a central foot or a more industrial pair of feet !
Let's stay on the rectangular tables, beyond 2m50 in length of the top, we do not have the capacity to manufacture a central leg due to material and technical constraints in our workshop.
Last particularity of the feet, it is the fixing on different trays of wood, type stone, marble, quartz. All these materials cannot be screwed so you will have to glue the leg and top together. Which means that they are unfortunately no longer separable at the risk of damaging one or the other.
Tips: glue an MDF plate that takes up the entire fixing surface of the feet and screw the feet into this plate. Thus top and foot are linked without this being definitive.
TIP OF A CENTRAL LEG THAT IS NOT ONE
The model of CIRCUMFLEX foot is a derivative of the mikado foot. That is to say, it is a branch without it being linked to any other.
Thus, the placement of this foot is flexible and depending on the shape of the top, the final design varies. With 4 quantities, it will be similar to a central leg: for a square or round top of 1m30 minimum and up to 1m50. You can even choose to put only 3 for a round table to lighten the whole. For a rectangular top, the feet will be positioned in the corners with access placement on the diagonals.
