You may not have known it, but standard heights exist for designing a home bar! A cozy little corner for a drink with friends, a quick meal or even to enjoy your coffee in the morning would be ideal in your home? So what is the ideal height for a bar and the stools that go with it?
WHAT HEIGHT FOR A BAR ?
THE PERFECT SIZE OF A COMPLETED BAR
First of all, it is important that you know that the height of a bar may vary depending on your height since it is a tall cabinet. If you are less than 1.80m tall the ideal height for your bar is 105cm. However, if you are over 1.80m tall, then the perfect height will be 110cm.
When we talk about "standard" or "ideal" height for a tall piece of furniture such as a bar, it is that which is measured "at elbow height".

WHICH FEET TO CHOOSE TO MAKE MY BAR?
As you will understand, the standard sizes for a bar obviously take into account the size of the legs as well as the thickness of the top. Knowing that the thickness of a top is on average 3 cm, you will therefore have to choose feet of 102 cm (for a finished bar of 105cm) or of 107 cm (for a finished bar of 110cm).
To do so, you will have to take a look in the category " Made to measure " from our website, because these feet will have to be made entirely to measure.

WHAT HEIGHT FOR A STOOL AND A BAR CHAIR ?
THE IDEAL HEIGHT FOR A STOOL OR BAR CHAIR
First of all, you should know that to be comfortably installed, you must be seated about 30cm lower than the bar top.
Take the example of the standard bar heights presented above :
- For a 105cm high bar, head for 75cm stools or chairs
- For a 110cm high bar, head for 80cm stools or chairs.

In any case, no matter what height you choose for the design of your bar, always arrange to have chairs or stools 30cm lower.
