Revisiting the trestle base

We have all experienced a family meal where the tables were in reality old trestles with planks used over and over again. So useful, that many of us have them at home. Its purpose is to temporarily install furniture or workspaces. It is true that the trestle is often used as a base for a workbench. Professionals also use it as a mini scaffolding.

At La Fabrique, we love its design: the old and practical side of this foot is all the rage with many people and it is becoming more and more fashionable especially for women desks and dining tables. Its natural wood side sticks in perfect harmony with the Scandinavian and bohemian trend which adds a plus to its notoriety.

THE TRESTLE LEG

This is why, as a STAND MANUFACTURER we see the potential of this design of the base and we decide to revisit it in order to make it more stable and to give it a more design aspect so that it can meet all our expectations and yours.

This is how the Fabrique's trestle base came into being. Inspired by the original edition of this leg and that of Ikéa, our 71 cm trestle base becomes the ideal base for making desks. It is composed of a wide platform that allows it to be fixed. simply on the top while ensuring stability thanks to its two "legs".

FEET A

We did not stop at a first revisit of the trestle base! Although it’s very popular for making desks, it doesn’t have to be a base for a dining table. It is in turn that the A foot is born. Closely linked to the Fabrique des Pieds trestle base, the A model was first created thanks to the Farm House trend: the good old thick trestles perfect for outdoor dining tables in a house of countryside.

The A base is one of the atypical industrial models of the Fabrique des Pieds. Well known for its use as a dining table and desk base, it is widely used for its resemblance to the original trestles. It is particularly well known for its association with light wood tops whatever its color (white or gold, mainly). Its impasto on the ground being very important, this design allows a guarantee with a real stability for the dining tables which is an advantage compared to its competitor.

The A foot has become, over time, one of the classics of the Fabrique. This is how the 71 cm model is available in 40 cm . The inspiration for an old trestle became the creation of a designer leg for dining tables and desks, but also for benches and coffee tables. This foot brings a strong touch of originality to the project through its shape and color.

The trestle foot and the A foot are ultimately both inspired by the original trestle, but the Fabrique has given them a more modern and design aspect in order to create original and unique furniture.
