MAKE A WORKTOP AND A PANTRY

Let's discover together the different stages of this DIY, we start with the material :

MATERIAL

• 1 IVAR box 80x30x83 cm
• Cleat
• Caning roll
• Spray glue
• Saw
• Nails
• Hammer
• Square
• White paint
• 3 boards 10 cm by 2m40 gross
• Sanding paper
• Metal cleats
• 2 brackets
• Screw
• 1 screwdriver
• 2 brushes
• Sealer (3/4 coats)
• 2 custom-made conical feet
• Hinge screw

DIY PROCESS

STEP 1

Let's start with the caisson. Paint the box white using paint and a brush

STEP 2

We will create the dials, while waiting for the paint to dry. To do this, start by cutting the necessary canning fabric, i.e. 2 panels of 71 cm by 30 cm.

Then cut the rods diagonally which will be used to create the dial. You will need 2 cleats of 4x72 cm and 2 other cleats of 4x30.5 cm.

STEP 3

Paint the wooden battens white and let them dry.

STEP 4

Glue the cleats to the canning fabric using the glue gun. Make sure you keep an angle of 90 ° degrees.

STEP 5

Disassemble the cabinet doors to nail the dials to them to make sure you position them in the center. Once this step is completed, you can reassemble the doors on the cabinet.

Tips : Put wood filler if necessary, to finish the angles well

STEP 6

Your furniture is ready, let's take care of the tray.

We start with 3 raw boards of 10 cm by 2m40. We will cut them using the saw to keep 2 m in length.

STEP 7

Sand each board in order to get rid of the splinters and roughness of the raw wood using sanding paper.

STEP 8

Apply 3 to 4 coats of sealer to each board to protect them from water and clean them easily. Let dry well between each coat.

STEP 9

Secure the boards together with cleats and screws. The ideal is to fix at least 3 in the empty part, knowing that 80 cm of board will rest on the box.

STEP 10

All our elements are ready, it's time to fix everything.

We position the box on the wall and fix it using a bracket.

STEP 11

We then come to fix the custom conical legs on the top, positioning them at the end of the part resting in the void. To do this, position the tray on its back, with the cleats facing you, a screwdriver and hinge screws.

STEP 12

We turn the whole thing over and place the tray on the box. We make sure of its positioning. The feet should be on the opposite side of the cabinet. Once secure, we reinforce and fix the foot + top part starting with brackets fixed to the wall and under the underside of the top and also between the box and the top.

THE RESULT
